ama S. believes food connects people no matter who you are or where you’re from. She loves teaching fun cooking classes, especially using unique recipes. Her recipe for banana stem salad is now being submitted for sign up to cook with Rama here.

My hometown is Bodhinagar, but I moved to get my degree in History Honors and a post-graduate degree in public administration from Delhi University. After marriage, my husband and I settled down in Kochi. Through my travels, I've realized that food is essential in all our lives and brings people together.

"After graduation, I had free time and explored cooking. My father always came home from his travels with the most amazing stories about food, which influenced me to try new things. And my mom, who is an excellent cook, was always there to help me with my latest experiments."

Her mom taught her to cook and kept her interested whenever it felt like a responsibility because cooking was never a chore. "She was passionate about cooking for people she loved. I am inspired by how she infused so much love into everything she made."

Rama likes to compete in cooking shows and competitions, so she stays updated on the latest trends. When she saw this opportunity, she decided to submit an exceptionally unique recipe: "Not many people know that you can cook banana stems, let alone make tasty dishes out of them."

"Whether selected or not, I was excited to share this with others because it is not a very commonly made recipe. I just wanted to let everyone know that there are ways of cooking banana stems and that they aren't just for discarding.” The recipe was passed down from her mother.

One of Rama's favorite childhood memories is her mother's lovely badam kheer. Apart from cooking, she enjoys gardening, soft skill training for children, and her career as an insurance partner.
